Shrewsbury Security Officer Job Description

We are currently seeking a professional and dedicated Security Officer to join our team in Shrewsbury. As a Security Officer, you will be in charge of safeguarding the safety and security of our premises, workers, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols to dissuade and identify any unauthorised activity on the premises.
• Consistently monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any potential security concerns.
• Respond efficiently and quickly to situations such as medical events, fire alarms, and security breaches.
• Enforce security measures and company rules to maintain compliance and safety requirements.
• Assist and support visitors and staff by responding to requests and concerns.
• Create full incident reports and keep accurate records of security-related actions.
• Work with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed to respond to security incidents.
• Attend training programmes to improve security skills and stay current on industry best practices.
   

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience with security, law enforcement, or related fields is preferred but not essential.
• Possession of a current security licence or the capacity to obtain one.
• Superior communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and great problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work many shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical fitness, including the capacity to stand or walk for lengthy periods of time.
• Understanding basic first aid and emergency response methods is useful.
• A valid SIA licence, proof of right to work in the UK, proof of address, and five years of employment experience.
